Moodle Guide for Students

What is Moodle?
Moodle is a course management system used by Mount Saint Vincent University and thousands of other institutions worldwide. Faculty may use Moodle to distribute course notes, communicate with students, set and grade quizzes, create assignments, discussions, and much more.

What does Moodle mean?
Moodle stands for Modular ObjectOriented Dynamic Learning Environment.

When can I get access to Moodle?
If your professor has requested a Moodle site, you will usually be able to access it a few days before the official start date of class, provided you have registered and paid for your course. After that, you will gain access the day AFTER you register.

How do you connect to Moodle?
You may connect in two ways.
Log into the MSVU homepage at http://www.msvu.ca -> hold your mouse over the Current Students link -> select Connect to Moodle.
OR
Type this URL into address field of your internet browser: http://moodle.msvu.ca (note: this link may change)

Libero IDE Install Instructions

General Information
Libero IDE software is downloadable for free from http://www.actel.com/download/default.aspx or you can order a free DVD from http://www.actel.com/techdocs/litrequest/default.aspx. You must have a license to run Libero IDE and the license type that you obtain determines what devices and features you can use.

Some Libero IDE features are optional during installation. You can minimize the disk space required by only installingtools you use.

  • Libero IDE Platinum (Complete Libero installation, all features and devices)
  • Libero IDE Gold (Limited device support and tools)
  • Libero IDE Stand Alone (Libero IDE without Synplify/Pro AE, ModelSim AE, and WaveFormer Lite)

Libero IDE License Options
You must have a license installed to run Libero IDE. Several license options are offered. The license defines the available features and FPGA devices, the license expiration date, and maximum version of the software that can be used with the license.

Libero IDE Quick Start Guide for Software v8.4

Introduction
The Libero IDE Quick Start Guide for Software v8.4 contains information for using the Libero® Integrated Design Environment (IDE) software to create designs for, and program, Actel devices.

This manual includes information about the Libero IDE software, which allows you to generate and/or import a netlist generated from a third-party CAE tool, perform pre-synthesis simulation, synthesize your design, place-and-route the design, run physical synthesis, perform static timing analysis, extract timing information, estimate power consumption, and generate a programming file to program an Actel FPGA.

This manual also refers to other Actel documents that contain additional information, including CAE software interface guides and simulation guides with specific information about using CAE tools with the Libero IDE.
