Section I : Installing the PhatBox Mounting the PhatBox
When choosing a mounting location remember:
- Leave at least 3 inches of clearance for the cable.
- The PhatBox should be mounted parallel or perpendicular to the floor of the car.
- Don’t mount near wiring or fuel lines.
- Leave the front of the PhatBox unobstructed for easy insertion of and removal of the cartridge.
- The unit should be mounted to a hard stable
Connecting the PhatBox to a Car Stereo Head Unit
- Turn off the car.
- Gain access to the rear portion of your car stereo.
- Unplug the original car stereo cable from the back of your stereo.
- Plug the male end of the PhatNoise cable into the same location the original car stereo was connected.
- Plug original car stereo cable into the smaller pigtail coming from the main PhatNoise pigtail.
- Secure the PhatBox to a flat mounting location parallel or perpendicular to the floor of the car with the four included self-tapping screws.
- Fully insert the cartridge into the front.
- Plug the PhatNoise cable into the back of the PhatBox
- The red and green lights should turn on.
- Approximately 5 seconds later, both lights should be off and stay off.
- Turn on your stereo (usually by turning the key to ACC).
- Switch to CD changer mode on your stereo by pressing the CD button until CD appears on the display.
- Wait up to 15 seconds for a welcome message to play.
- Congratulations! The PhatNoise PhatBox is installed and ready to be used. Turn off the stereo and remove the cartridge.
