Tips for Creating Pre-Recorded Presentations

Delivering presentations on the web can extend the classroom experience for students and allows faculty to make their presentations available beyond the physical classroom, but it also brings some new challenges. These guidelines present some tips to help ensure that your pre-recorded narrated presentations are of high quality.

Preparing your presentation to record:

1. Write a script and be familiar with what you will say during each slide. Speak with confidence.
2. Do a few “dry runs” to practice speaking so you become proficient and don’t stumble over words.
3. Do not read the script – practice narrating for an audience.
4. Familiarize yourself with the pacing and speak reasonably slowly, take a short pause between topics. Time yourself.
5. Spell-check your presentation before recording.
6. Record in a quiet place where you will not be interrupted.

Strengths and Weaknesses

I was hesitating if I should make a guide for such a simple and routine task but as I have seen a lot of my friends to put the car for this job to a service and others were asking me to change the oil for them.
