Ballet Austin Presents Hamlet Valentine Day Weekend at the Long Center

The Story
Hamlet is arguably one of the most famous plays in the English language. Likely written in early 1600s, the tragedy is a milestone in Shakespeare’s dramatic development. According to most critics, the playwright achieved artistic maturity in this work through his brilliant depiction of the hero’s struggle with two opposing forces: moral integrity and the need to avenge his father’s murder. Shakespeare’s focus on this conflict was a revolutionary departure from contemporary revenge tragedies, which tended to graphically dramatize violent acts on stage in that it emphasized the hero’s dilemma rather than the depiction of bloody deeds.

Dynamic Proxies In Java

Dynamic Proxies

  • Proxy objects are useful in many situations to act as an intermediary between a client object and a target object
  • Usually, the proxy class is already available as Java bytecodes, having been compiled from the Java source file for the proxy class
  • When needed, the bytecodes for the proxy class are loaded into the Java Virtual Machine and proxy objects can then be instantiated
  • But, in some circumstances, it is useful to dynamically generate the bytecodes for the proxy class at runtime
  • This module will look at the techniques for dynamically generating proxies in Java and the benefits of doing so

Vehicle Example With Proxy

  • Now let’s have the client interact with the target object through a proxy
  • Remember that the main intent of a proxy is to control access to the target object, rather than to enhance the functionality of the target object

A Guide to Protecting Your Home from Wildfire

Recognizing Wildfire Risk

How do you know if you’re at risk from wildfire? It is easy to see that a home is at risk from wildfire if it sits in the middle of a woodlot or on the edge of an overgrown field. Additionally, homes are also at risk in what fire experts call the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI).

The WUI can be anywhere along the suburban fringe. Many denselydeveloped suburban neighborhoods with four-lane streets and stoplights are at significant risk from wildfire. The WUI can also be small, developed lots around a lake , or small tracts in a forested area. It’s hard to say exactly where the risk ends, but having undeveloped woodlands and fields in and around a neighborhood means that residents should know how to prepare their homes for wildfire.

A Parents Guide to Safe Sleep

Did You Know?

  • About one in five sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) deaths occur while an infant is in the care of someone other than a parent. Many of these deaths occur when babies who are used to sleeping on their backs at home are then placed to sleep on their tummies by another caregiver. We call this “unaccustomed tummy sleeping”.
  • Unaccustomed tummy sleeping increases the risk of SIDS. Babies who are used to sleeping on their backs and are placed to sleep on their tummies are 18 times more likely to die from SIDS.

You can reduce your baby’s risk of dying of SIDS by talking to those who care for your baby, including child care providers, babysitters, family, and friends, about placing your baby to sleep on his back at night and during naps.
