Illinois Mortgage Lending Guide

Tips for Avoiding a Predatory Mortgage Loan

What is predatory mortgage lending?
A predatory mortgage is a needlessly expensive home loan that provides no financial benefit to the borrower in return for the extra costs. In many cases, homeowners are deceived about the loan’s true costs and terms or are pressured into signing loans they cannot afford. Many of these homeowners lose their homes to foreclosure.

If you’re in the market for a home loan, here are some questions you should ask and common predatory lending practices of which you should be aware. Because the information in this Guide is by no means complete, you should always have an attorney review all loan documents before you sign them. If you cannot afford an attorney, you should bring all of your loan documents to a HUD-certified housing counseling agency for review. To find a housing counseling agency in your area, see the list of agencies at the back of this Guide.

Gmail Chat Review Guide

Gmail Chat creates a seamless communications experience, enabling users to email and send instant messages from directly within the same browser. There’s nothing to download and no separate application to use—it just works in Gmail. Users can see when their contacts are online, and chat instantly with them.

Communications today can be frustrating. Users typically have to use separate email and instant messaging applications to talk to the same people, not to mention having to keep track of what information was sent where. Gmail Chat addresses some of these issues by breaking down the arbitrary barrier that’s been created between email and IM. Chats need not be different from email messages. Important information is communicated and stored in both.

Gmail has always been committed to making communications more effi cient and helping users fi nd and access information. Now we’ve extended this model to instant communications.

Hibernate Tools Reference Guide

Preface
Hibernate Tools is a toolset for Hibernate 3 [http://www.hibernate.org/6.html] and related projects http://www.hibernate.org/27.html]. The tools provide Ant tasks and Eclipse plugins for performing reverse engineering, code generation, visualization and interaction with Hibernate.

Key Features
First, we propose to look through the list of key features that you can benefit from if you start using Hibernate Tools.

Other relevant resources on the topic
All JBoss Developer Studio/JBoss Tools documentation you can find here [http://www.jboss.com/products/devstudio/docs].

Download and install Hibernate Tools
Hibernate Tools can be used “standalone” via Ant 1.6.x or fully integrated into an Eclipse 3.3.x + WTP 2.x based IDE, such as JBoss Tools or a default Eclipse 3.3.x + WTP 2.x installation. The following describes the install steps in these environments.

JBoss Tools
JBoss Tools 2.x includes Hibernate Tools and thus nothing is required besides downloading [http://labs.jboss.com/tools/download/index.html] and installing JBoss Tools [../../GettingStartedGuide/html_single/index.html#JBossToolsInstall]. If you need to update to a newer version of the Hibernate Tools just follow the instructions in the Eclipse IDE section.

Cheating in Networked Computer Games

ABSTRACT
The increasing popularity of Massively Multiplayer Online Games (MMOG) – games involving thousands of players participating simultaneously in a single virtual world – has Client/Server (C/S) architectures. Researchers are proposing Peerhighlighted the scalability bottlenecks present in centralised to-Peer (P2P) architectures as a scalable alternative to C/S; however, P2P is more vulnerable to cheating as it decentralises the game state and logic to un-trusted peer machines, rather than using trusted centralised servers. Cheating is a major concern for online games, as a minority of cheaters can potentially ruin the game for all players. In this paper we present a review and classification of known cheats, and provide real-world examples where possible. Further, we discuss counter measures used by C/S architectures to prevent cheating. Finally, we discuss several P2P architectures designed to prevent cheating, highlighting their strengths and weaknesses.
