Guide to Hardcore Wii Accessories

There weren’t too many supporters for the Wii console from Nintedo before the launch. Sure, it sounded great on paper (or better yet online), but the low processing power and the simplicity of the design and concept were a deterrent. After the console hit the market, things started to change and, slowly but surely, Nintendo started to get the upper hand. In a matter of months, they were battling out in the open with the much more powerful platforms from Sony and Microsoft. I have to admit that I was a little skeptic and when it comes to some of the more complex games being ported on the console, I still have my doubts. Anyway, Wii has proven to be the perfect entertainer in the short office breaks and on parties with too much liquor available. The fun console has gotten funnier and it hasn’t stopped. Some of the accessories are out of this world and you have to wonder what the heck were those guys thinking when they came up with some of the ideas; maybe is too much tequila or maybe the console is forcing people to think out the box. In any case, the add-ons from for the Wii are by far the funniest ones. Sun VirtualBox User Manual

Introduction

Sun xVM VirtualBox is a collection of powerful virtual machine tools, targeting desktop computers, enterprise servers and embedded systems. With VirtualBox, you can virtualize 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems on machines with Intel and AMD processors, either by using hardware virtualization features provided by these processorsor even entirely in software, at your option. You can find a brief feature overview in chapter 1.3, Features overview, page 12; see chapter 12, Change log, page 149 for a detailed list of version changes. Virtualization basics With VirtualBox, you can run unmodified operating systems – including all of the software that is installed on them – directly on top of your existing operating system, in a special environment called a “virtual machine”. Your physical computer is then usually called the “host”, while the virtual machine is often called a “guest”. VirtualBox allows the guest code to run unmodified, directly on the host computer, and the guest operating system “thinks” it’s running on a real machine. In the background, however, VirtualBox intercepts certain operations that the guest performs to make sure that the guest does not interfere with other programs on the host. The techniques and features that VirtualBox provides are useful for several scenarios:

CMOS Setup Utility

CMOS setup is a hardware configuration program built into the system ROM, called the complementary metaloxide semiconductor (CMOS) Setup Utility. Since most systems are already properly configured and optimized, there is no need to run this utility. You will need to run this utility under the following conditions.

  • When changing the system configuration settings
  • When redefining the communication ports to prevent any conflicts
  • When modifying the power management configuration
  • When changing the password or making other changes to the security setup
  • When a configuration error is detected by the system and you are prompted (“Run Setup” message) to make changes to the CMOS setup

NOTE: If you repeatedly receive Run Setup messages, the battery may be bad. In this case, the system cannot retain configuration values in CMOS. Ask a qualified technician for assistance.

The Quick Start Guide for Collaborative Project Management

STARTING MERLIN SERVER
Start the Merlin Server by dragging the slider from “Off“ to “On“. The Server will then automatically publish all projects from the Shared Folder. The active services are indicated with a glowing green light. Merlin Server is now running.

FIX PERMISSIONS
It can be, that there was an issue copying the projects to the Shared Folder. For that reason the permissions have to be fixed. The privileges for the shared project files can be fixed with a click on the option “Fix Permissions…”, which can be found in the Merlin Server pane. The project files can not be used with the server, as long as the permissions are not fixed.

ACL: ACCESS CONTROL LIST
Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and 10.5 Leopard use Access Control Lists by default. These lists control all permissions to the system. Merlin Server needs active ACLs in order to function properly.
