Environmentally conscious wine:
To reduce the environmental impact, choose a local wine. Consult the Wines of Canada website for a list of wines available in your province. Buy organic wines; Wines of Canada also lists the organic options available in different provinces. If the selection of local wine is not to your liking, you can always purchase Fair Trade certified wine.
What about wine packaging?
An interesting debate on wine packaging is currently taking place… On one hand, bag-in-box wine seems to be the best choice since the packaging takes less energy to produce and transport which results in a much smaller carbon footprint. On the other hand, end-of-life recycling options for bottled wine seem to be the better of the two. When in doubt, buy local!

Starting and Configuring the ION Daemon

The ION Daemon is a process that listens to a specified socket port, waiting for a communication request. Once a connection is received and verified, the daemon starts up an ION Server process, connects the client to the server process and waits for further connection requests.

If you have client applets located behind a firewall, which attempt and fail to communicate with an ION Server on the other side of a firewall, you will need to start and configure the ION Tunnel Broker in addition to the ION Daemon. See “Configuring The ION HTTP Tunnel Broker” on page 29 for more information.

The type of High Definition Television (HDTV) that you should purchase will depend on your requirements for the conference room where you plan to use video communications. There are a few different considerations that you will need to be aware of when selecting from a wide-range of HDTV offerings. An overview of each area is covered:

• Resolution – 720p or 1080i
• Monitor Size
• Type of Display – LCD, Plasma, Rear-Projection, etc.

In working with an experienced reseller and AV integrator, it will be important to address the following questions specific to your application:

• How large is the conference room? What is the configuration? Is this a multi-purpose room?
• How many people will typically be in the room for a videoconference?
• How will the monitors be displayed?
• Will there need to be one or more monitors to display video, multipoint and multimedia?

Recycling has been mandatory in Montgomery County since 1993 for residents and businesses. However, over time the County’s recycling program has changed and additional materials are now recyclable. Thanks to everyone’s effort, Montgomery County is making a difference. Overall, residents and businesses are recycling more than 44 percent of all trash generated. That’s over 553,000 tons of materials annually that are recycled and made into new products. Montgomery County’s recycling program provides its residents with the opportunity to recycle a wide variety of materials at the curb.

The Goal of Software Security Engineering
Software security engineering is using practices, processes, tools, and techniques that enable you to address security issues in every phase of the software development life cycle (SDLC). Software that is developed with security in mind is typically more resistant to both intentional attack and unintentional failures. One view of secure software is software that is engineered “so that it continues to function correctly under malicious attack” [McGraw 20063] and is able to recognize, resist, tolerate, and recover from events that intentionally threaten its dependability. Broader views that can overlap with software security (for example, software safety, reliability, and fault tolerance) include proper functioning in the face of unintentional failures or accidents and inadvertent misuse and abuse, as well as reducing software defects and weaknesses to the greatest extent possible regardless of their cause.

Selecting the Appropriate Meadow Species

A successful wildflower meadow is a complex, interactive plant community, not just a collection of individuals. Choose a mixture of native species that, over a period of time, will naturally sort themselves out; the species best adapted to the site will be the ones that thrive after the first few years. Inventory the site and its microhabitats, such as wet, low-lying areas, shady areas, or open fields, and determine the species best suited to and most likely to succeed in each area.

You’ll want to plant perennials, annuals, and biennials in your meadow, as well as a variety of native species that will provide color throughout the growing season. When in doubt, check to make sure the plants you’re choosing aren’t on your state’s noxious weed list.
