PowerPoint Guidelines

Your audience

As you stand at the rostrum remember that your audience is not really made up of a group of fellow business tycoons, or potential customers, or civil servants, etc but, that it is made up of fellow people like yourself. Therefore, that means some might have refractive errors requiring the use of spectacles or contact lenses, some might have low vision or be blind, and some may have other print impairments such as dyslexia or colour blindness. What they will all share is a difficulty to follow and absorb the full impact of your impending presentation.

These guidelines offer you some simple guidance on how to maximise your impact by ensuring that your presentation, and your delivery technique, is as accessible as possible to all your audience members. They contain both practical information and good-practice guidance.

Understanding Google AdSense

The AdSense Factor

Google describes AdSense as “a fast and easy way for web site publishers of all sizes to display relevant Google ads on their web site’s content pages and earn money.” The AdSense ads displayed by Google on your site are matched to Google’s interpretation of the content theme of your site. In this manner, the AdSense ads will be of interest to your site visitors looking for the unique content your site offers to them.

AdSense is a system where Google places its AdWords ads on the content pages of non-Google web sites. It is a pay-per-click (PPC) service where webmasters are paid a portion of the revenue collected by Google from the advertisers. The advertiser pays Google a pre-determined amount each time a web site visitor clicks on an AdSense advertisement.

Residential Recycling Guide – Montgomery County, Maryland

DID YOU KNOW

  • The energy saved by recycling one aluminum can will power a TV set for three hours?
  • You can make 20 aluminum cans out of recycled materials with the same amount of energy it takes to make one new can?
  • It’s the law for all residents and businesses in Montgomery County to recycle?

Recycling has been mandatory in Montgomery County since 1993 for residents and businesses. However, over time the County’s recycling program has changed and additional materials are now recyclable. Thanks to everyone’s effort, Montgomery County is making a difference. Overall, residents and businesses are recycling more than 44 percent of all trash generated. That’s over 553,000 tons of materials annually that are recycled and made into new products. Montgomery County’s recycling program provides its residents with the opportunity to recycle a wide variety of materials at the curb.
