OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS:

1. You can power the charger using either an AC power source or the cigarette lighter receptacle of any vehicle. To use the AC adapter, connect the barrel-plug end of the AC adapter into the back of the charger and the other end into a standard AC outlet (Fig A). To use the DC car charger, connect the DC car cord into the back of the charger and the other end into the cigarette lighter receptacle of the vehicle. The green indicator light (FULL) will flash on then off. This indicates the charger is ready for use.
2. To charge your battery, please refer to the compatibility guide to determine the correct adapter plate for your battery. Some batteries can be charged on the base unit without the use of adapter plates. This will be noted in the compatibility guide. If an adapter plate is required to charge your battery, simply attach the appropriate adapter plate onto the base charger unit. Line up the notch on the plate with the tab on the base (Fig B). Push down on the plate while sliding the plate to the right (Fig C, D).

The Start Up Process
Your MacBook is sitting in front of you. What do you do to get it up and running? First, let’s open it. The latch (figure 1) is magnetic. Simply pull up on the top case to open it up. The MacBook is hinged on the back. Adjust the screen to the best viewing angle but be careful not to open past the natural stopping point.

Now, turn it on. The power switch is located on the upper right of the keyboard (figure 2). Press it. You’ll hear the famous Apple “chime” which indicates the computer is starting up. It may take as long as a minute before you see the next screen, so don’t get impatient. If the computer was already turned on when you pushed the button, it will come up in a few seconds without the chime. You’ll see several different screens as your machine starts up.

German wines are produced according to a quality scale based on the ripeness of the grapes at harvest time. In general, riper grapes produce richer, more complex wines. Because of Germany’s cool, northern climate, full ripeness can often be difficult to achieve, so this ripeness-based quality scale does make some sense. The problem is that it ignores the historically proven differences in variety and vineyard site and does nothing to address differences in quality among producers. The result is that, judging only from the label, a Riesling Spätlese from a dedicated winemaker and a great vineyard would seem to be of the same quality as a Müller-Thurgau Spätlese from an industrial producer and lousy vineyards. The best way to proceed as a consumer is to and find the producers whose style you enjoy and then focus on the differences between the quality levels and vineyards in their wines.

GERMANY’S LEVELS OF WINE QUALITY
Qualitätswein/QbA. [kval-ee-TAYTS-vine] German for “quality wine.” QbA is an acronym for Qualitätswein bestimmter Anbaugebiete, which means a quality wine that comes entirely from one of the 13 designated wine regions in Germany. This is an estate’s basic wine and can often be a very good value, especially from top-rated producers. Chaptalization (adding sugar to improve ripeness) is allowed in QbA.
