TRACTOR GUIDE

Consider it. Compare it.

ENGINE TYPE AND SIZE
The size of your lot and its terrain play a key role in determining your engine type. Also, if you will be using attachments for pulling a trailer, you need to consider the horsepower.

TRANSMISSION TYPE
Automatic transmissions allow you to change ground speed and direction without shifting or clutching and are the choice of most professionals. Manual transmissions require you to engage the clutch and select a gear to start, stop or change direction.

FRAME AND FRONT AXLE
The frame and front axle are the foundations of a tractor and a major indicator of a tractor’s quality. Full-length frames offer extra stability over rough terrain. Continuous welds on the frame are stronger than stitch welds. Cast iron front axles won’t bend or buckle under heavy loads.
