USB VoIP Dialpad Quick Start Guide

Prepare

Before you start. Please ensure that you have at least one computer with a spare USB 2.0 port. Below is a list of software and requirements you should also prepare: At least one application that enables you to speak over the internet for free.

Connections

Unpack the USB VoIP Dialpad, connect the USB cable to your computer and to the rear of the USB VoIP Dialpad. Now power on your computer. With Windows 2000 and Windows XP, the Drivers will automatically be located and installed. The keypad will light up once the Dialpad is configured correctly. 2 sets of switchable connectors have been provided, one for the supplied headset, the other for desktop speakers and mic; both are interchangeable. Speaker connector is green, Mic connector is pink. The Audio A-B switch simply switches audio in and out to A or B connector, great for switching between private conversation or conference. USB 2.0 High Speed ports have been provided so you can plug in all your peripherals. No need to purchase an additional USB hub!

I. General

WebMessenger for Skype supports messaging, presence and phone calls from / to Skype users, available to the WebMessenger mobile IM clients. The diagram above shows the call control and audio streams handling. WebMessenger for Skype connects the WMP client with the Skype network. You can exchange messages, presence and make phone calls to Skype buddies from your mobile telephone. The information from Skype is passing through the WMP server and the WMP client can see the Skype buddies as one of the public instant messaging networks.

Installation

The following instructions will guide you to through the process of installing the Personal USB Gateway.

STEP 1: If SkypeTM is not already installed on your computer, visit http://www.skype.com and follow the instructions there to install SkypeTM. Verify that SkypeTM is working before installing the USB Gateway.

STEP 2: Insert the supplied CD-ROM into your PC CD-ROM drive. The installation should start automatically. If not, open the installation folder on the CD-ROM and double click on the setup.exe program as shown below. The other end of the USB cable must be connected to a USB port on your computer or to an AC Powered USB hub.

STEP 3: You would then see following screen if your Skype is already running. If not, start your Skype program. Refer to STEP 1 for how to download the Skype program. Choose the first option Allow this program to use Skype, and press OK. Following Dashboard screen should appear, showing Skype is connected.
