Guide to Recreation in Salt Lake Field

Welcome to the Salt Lake Field Office (SLFO)! The information contained in this handout explains when and for what areas a BLM permit is required, timeframes required for obtaining a permit, and who you need to contact to obtain a permit. This information incorporates and is supplemental to 43 CFR 2930.

The SLFO requires different types of recreation permits and agreements for use based on type and location of activity, size of group, and if the activity/event is commercial and/or competitive. Although there are four types of permits, only one permit is required for any given activity/event (other authorizations may be required based on your proposal, ie: commercial filming). Requirements for each type of permit or agreement are as follows:

Google Analytics and WordPress – A Quick ‘n Dirty Guide

Getting With Google Analytics

Once you’ve obtained or signed into your Google Account (either through GMail, Google Premiere Apps, etc), visit the Google Analytics website at: http://www.google.com/analytics.

Adding a New Account
Get started by entering in the basic details of the website that you wish to track. You will also fill in some additional details on the following screens.

Tracking Instructions
Once you’ve put in the basic information required, Google Analytics will give you back some JavaScript code that you can paste into the footer of the pages of your website that you wish to track – but if you’re using WordPress, you can do something far more clever than that. Copy the tracking code from the window provided and put it in a safe place. Time to move on to WordPress.

Green Valentine Day

Wine
Depending on the wine you choose, it may have travelled long distances to get to your local liquor store and pesticides may also have been used during production.
Environmentally conscious wine:
To reduce the environmental impact, choose a local wine. Consult the Wines of Canada website for a list of wines available in your province. Buy organic wines; Wines of Canada also lists the organic options available in different provinces. If the selection of local wine is not to your liking, you can always purchase Fair Trade certified wine.
What about wine packaging?
An interesting debate on wine packaging is currently taking place… On one hand, bag-in-box wine seems to be the best choice since the packaging takes less energy to produce and transport which results in a much smaller carbon footprint. On the other hand, end-of-life recycling options for bottled wine seem to be the better of the two. When in doubt, buy local!

Food Industry Fact Sheet – Guide to Safe Handling of Ice

Personal Hygiene

  • Thoroughly wash hands with soap and water and dry hands with disposable paper towels before handling ice
  • If handling ice, avoid handling other materials that may transmit bacteria (cross contamination) to the ice (eg. cleaning cloths, tea towels, refuse containers etc.)
  • Keep your clothing, hands, fingernails and body clean at all times and if required, wear protective clothing (gloves, caps, aprons)
  • Do not smoke before or whilst handling ice.

Sick Workers

  • Advise your supervisor and do not handle ice if you are ill, particularly if you have symptoms of a cold, vomiting, diarrhoea or a skin infection on the hands.

Handling

  • Do not handle ice with bare hands or glass cups. Use clean ice scoops, ice buckets or disposable gloves
  • Do not break up or loosen bags of ice on the floor or other unclean surfaces as the ice may become contaminated

Using NetBackup For SAP To Protect SAP DB/MaxDB

Defining a Backup Medium in SAP DB/MaxDB
Prior to running a backup, create at least one backup medium per backup type (complete, incremental) in SAP DB/MaxDB. When using Backint for Oracle, the name of backup medium created must begin with BACK. The type of backup medium must be PIPE. The following procedure demonstrates connecting to dbmcli, and then creating a backup medium (in this case, a sample medium called BACKORA).

Performing Backup And Restore
When running a backup of SAP DB/MaxDB, you must include the backup medium you created. The first step of the following procedure starts the utility session. You must start the utility session before running a backup. To learn more about utility session refer to SAP DB/MaxDB documentation.

Troubleshooting

  • Useful log file $RUNDIRECTORY/dbm.ebp
    – Default run directory is <install_path>\sdb\data\wrk\<database_name>)
  • Naming convention could add confusion:
    – Executable for “Backint for SAP DB/MaxDB” – backint
    – Executable for “Backint for Oracle” – backint
    – Executable for Adapter Program – backint
