SoftCast User Guide
SopCast is a program that has P2P technology to broadcast different television channels that can be acceded from your PC.
One of the advantages about working with the PeertoPeer philosophy is that while more people are trying to see an emission, the better the downloading speed and the view fluidity will.
When initiating Sopcast we have the possibility of choosing between an anonymous connection and one that uses a user account. We chose the one we preferred (in this case the anonymous one) and click on “Connect”.
Once inside, we will see different tabs from which we can accede, the one that matters to us is the Live Channels.
Here we found a worldwide channel list divided in different categories: entertainment and soap opera channels, news, education, sports, etc.
If we select the channel and click on the image that appears in front of it we will be able to accede seven different information parameters about the broadcasting: Type, User, Kbps, QualityC, StartFrom, QualityS, URL.
We need to pay special attention to the Kbps, since we can only reproduce channels with a Kbps that is small than our connection, and Users, where the number of users connected to a channel are showed.
In order to see some of these we click on the one we want. An additional window will be opened and the load of the buffer will begin. On the top of the video we can see many buttons that will allow us to hide the main screen, to zoom on which is being seen, add the channel to favorites, record the broadcasting and close it.
