Installation
The following instructions will guide you to through the process of installing the Personal USB Gateway.
STEP 1: If SkypeTM is not already installed on your computer, visit http://www.skype.com and follow the instructions there to install SkypeTM. Verify that SkypeTM is working before installing the USB Gateway.
STEP 2: Insert the supplied CD-ROM into your PC CD-ROM drive. The installation should start automatically. If not, open the installation folder on the CD-ROM and double click on the setup.exe program as shown below. The other end of the USB cable must be connected to a USB port on your computer or to an AC Powered USB hub.
STEP 3: You would then see following screen if your Skype is already running. If not, start your Skype program. Refer to STEP 1 for how to download the Skype program. Choose the first option Allow this program to use Skype, and press OK. Following Dashboard screen should appear, showing Skype is connected.
STEP 4: Connect a standard telephone handset (either corded or cordless) to the USB Gateways port PHONE using a telephone cable as shown below.
STEP 5: Connect a telephone cable between the USB Gateways port PSTN and a wall jack as shown below. Note that this is only required for making regular phone calls or for Diverting Skype calls to your mobile (or other off-site) phone or for toll bypass applications.
USB Gateway LED
- Power LED: Indicating the USB Gateway is receiving power.
- VoIP LED: When the USB Gateway is switched to VoIP(Skype) network, it will be lit. When there a VoIP (Skype) call, the light will be blinking.
- PSTN LED: When the USB Gateway is switched to PSTN (landline) network, it will be lit. When there a PSTN call,
- the light will be blinking.
Both VoIP and PSTN LED will be lit when the USB Gateway is diverting call, or when the 3-way conferencing is enabled.
